Nattokinase was discovered by Dr. Hiroyki Sumi in 1980. It is an enzyme extracted and purified from Natto, a cheese-like food made from fermented soybeans that has been eaten in Japan for many years. Natto is a staple food in particular regions of Japan, regions that enjoys a lower rate of heart disease and stroke when compared to the rest of the world. Nattokinase made from soybeans fermented with Bacillus Subtilis NAT (a very specific sub-strain of Bacillus Subtilis),was made available as a supplement in Japan about 20 years ago and has long enjoyed great success.
NattoGold® is true fermented Nattokinase fully sequenced to the original research by Dr. Sumi which isolated the profibrinolytic enzyme from Natto, a popular Japanese dish of fermented soy beans mixed with the helpful bacterium Bacillus subtilis natto.
